Misguided coverage?

why is it that there are widespread protests and chaos in Iran, an ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and an economy in crisis and the top story on EVERY news outlet is Michael Jackson is dead. I am sorry for that, truly am. Loved him in the 80s. However, does it need to be covered to the extent it is? At the expense of other, more important, stories? What do you think?

    Why is there so much coverage for him specifically, as compared to other celebrities who have died? Yes, it is okay to recognize it for a day or two, but there are other more important things that need to be broadcast to the world. Pop culture isn't the entire world, although it seems to leak into everything, unfortunately. The news outlets pounced on the story like everything else, and are probably making it bigger and more important that it should be.

    I see your point but he was one of the stranger figures in pop culture. They had shrine dedicated to him in munich.

    ya all the news has been going on for a long time but for some people MJ was their idol so they want to know every detail about what happend so in a way i get it. oh and btw what is your e-mail i kind of recycled the folder that i wrote it on. hope your having a good summer! :)

    well it was thought and proven that he molested a boy and at one point his skin on his nose was falling off. he was good in thriller and beat it but otherwise not so much. His coverage shouldnt have interrupted news in Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. The cause of his death is linked to being given a med to put him under so he could sleep. It was given by a doctor. I know he was loved but, come on. the location of the coffin was hidden and his body parts, like hair was being sold.
