How many times have you said to yourself that school is a waste of time. Ever seen or heard this scenario go down?
student: school is dumb, it's a waste of time.
teacher: you might think that but you are making a difference for your future, trust me.
student: whatever. it's not like we get paid for this.
teacher: you are getting paid in a way though, the longer you go to school the more likely you are to be successful in life.
student: yeah, whatever.
Well here is something for you to ponder. associated press released unemployment statistics in a newspaper article saturday. Check this out and tell me what this tell you:
4.1 unemployment rate for college graduates
8.3 unemployment rate for high school graduates
12.6 unemployment rate for those without a high school diploma
I think those numbers speak for themselves. What do you think?

ReplyDeleteI think that those numbers are all the same from one another because the "Grad" that are unemolyed are the ones that didn't do very well or that they could not pay.
don't be too sure. often times, it is difficult as a college graduate well past day of graduation to find work in a related field. many of those "grads" aren't 22 year olds, more than likely they are my age or older and have lost jobs due to the declining economy. moral of the story: stay in school and go to college, you're more likely to be successful/stay employed!
ReplyDeleteAlso some people can't afford collage, which means there kids are more likely not to go to collage and that cycle will repeat.

I think if you have at least a bachelors degree you have a greater chance of keeping your job. The better college degree you have, the more likely you are to keep your job.
ReplyDeleteI think that you should get all your diplomas and that school is NOT a wast of time. With out your diplomas from highschool that could close many doors later in life.
