Just another random thought that emerges in my gray matter. Next time you think of it, take a look at various products in your house and see where they are made or manufactured. I think you will find that a large portion come from China.
Why do you think that is?
How many items did you find manufactured in China in your home?
Why not buy American?
What if the government were to try to encourage, through policies, buying American?
How might that influence our international relationships with other nations?
How might it impact trade?
What about recent recalls of defective or dangerous products from China?
Just food for thought, let me know what you think...

I think why we by from China is because it is a lot less than American toys.

At my house there is everything mede from China and Tiwan like pencils. I think that we as americans think that its easyier to buy things already made then make them by ourselves. If our government were trying to encourage this buying american then that would be hard and a lot of money to build all those new manufacturing places. ( it would poullote even more we'd be a mini china) If we did do that then it would soo impact our trade with other countries because we wouldn't need them to help us get our products except for some foods. Recalls recently have been plastic like barbies and nerf guns. Also there has been a recall for peanut butter.

I think that my family still has a lot of thing that are made from China because not many thing come from the USA I remember just a few years ago how I could only find bricks that were made in Vermont now things like sweatshirts and other thing are made here, but it might take a while for people to find them.

ReplyDeleteThings are made in China because they have lower standards than us and europe on how workers are treated. China is sending dangerous things into our and other countries. They are becoming to powerful over america, canada,Britain, France, Germany and many other countries. I personally vthink we should become more self reliant or take the some what radical step of geting the UN to get countries to set embargos on trade with China.-Sam Giles
